Our cloud based hosting is fully load-balanced and auto-scaling, meaning there is no single point of failure and your website performance will never be affected by other users’ websites, visitors or activity. We use enterprise SSD storage as standard, and everything is optimised for maximum speed and security.
This cloud based environment is completely separate to our legacy Windows or Linux hosting, and therefore, there is no direct, automated upgrade path. To migrate to this hosting you will first need to purchase a new hosting package at https://www.qbic.co.uk/cloud-web-hosting/ . When paying monthly, we offer the first month for only £1 for any of our cloud packages.
Once you have the new cloud hosting we would suggest following these steps to migrate:
- Create any mySQL databases you require.
- Copy over the mySQL database(s) from your current hosting by using phpMyAdmin to export the database on the old hosting, and using phpMyAdmin on the cloud hosting to import.
- Copy over your website files via FTP.
- Change any database connection details to connect to the new databases.
- Create your required email mailboxes and forwarders via the cloud hosting control panel.
- Use the Email Migration option in the cloud control panel to import emails from your existing mailboxes.
- Configure your mail client(s) to connect to the new mailboxes configured in step 5.
- Update the name servers of your domain to point to the new cloud hosting. These name servers are provided in the welcome email we send after placing the order of the cloud hosting. If your domain registration is controlled by us you can do this via our members area.
